“Let light shine out of darkness”

I remember thinking around this time last year what an awful day I’m bringing this little girl into the world on! I even asked the nurses if we could hold off another 24 hours. And I called Brian to tell him that she was ready to make her appearance and we both said, almost in unison, “what a terrible birthday.” We had been joking previously because how does one celebrate on 9/11?? And then one of the nurses told me that now this day will have a new meaning for us. That she will be a light. And I remember thinking yes, that feels right. She is proof that love is the strongest thing in the world. Today we honor those who lost everything by celebrating life. Theirs, ours and now hers. We persevere. And we never forget.

Let light shine out of darkness

Happy baby sweet baby girl. You make our lives so much brighter.

xx
